Search Engine Marketing

For Perth and the world.

Advertise on Google.

Let’s face it, we could name this page Google Advertising.

Sure, sprinkle in some Bing Ads to cover closer to 100% of the market, but when it comes to pay-per-click in the search engines, getting found on Google is non-negotiable.

Complemented with a simultaneous SEO strategy, Google Ads are a powerful way to skip the line into the top results where people are actively searching for what you offer, with a high intent to purchase.

So you better get up there, fast!

Build it and they will come?

Who knew, simply having a website does not mean anyone will actually find you.

But do you know where people go to find anything these days? No? Just Google it.

With more than 8 billion searches each day, we find out what your customers are searching for.

Then, we help you target those search queries with compelling ads.

Get to the top, instantly.

People used to have more time and patience. They would sometimes make it to the second page of Google.

Now, it’s a rare event to even scroll beyond the local map pack.

With Google Ads, you can propel your message to the very top of Google Search.

What happens post-click?

For all the fanfare, Google Ads are, at best, only half the equation.

What you show people after they clicked your ad, is just as (if not more) important.

From your landing page onwards, you want to make it super easy for ad clickers to do what you want them to do.

PPC can be ruthless.

Set up and managed correctly, it’s likely you’ll be lining up the sales and/or leads at a cost per conversion that’s only fraction of the conversion value.

Not done right, you’ll lose your shirt.

We have a tried and tested audit process to turn around badly set up accounts and get them to start delivering a more acceptable ROI.

Search Engine Marketing FAQs

The cost of running search ads consists of the following components:

  • Initial setup fee
  • Ongoing maintenance, management & optimisation fees
  • Ad spend

Please note that all pricing on our website is AUD (ex. GST).

Initial setup

This is a one-off cost to get you up and running and on your way to long-term success. At The Strategy Agency, this includes:

  • Industry best-practice conversion tracking between your website, Google Tag Manager and Google Ads.
  • The creation and/or configuration of your ad accounts, campaigns, ad groups, ads, ad extensions, and so on.

Here, it’s important to note that some agencies charge by the keyword. Sure, for them this is a a straightforward way to bill you, but we think it also gives them an incentive to fill your ad account with hundreds or even thousands of keywords you may not need.

Also, not all keywords are equal. Some deliver lots of traffic against a low conversion value. Others bring in most of your business at a low cost.

All of this together is why we price our initial setup fee based on our hourly rate for digital marketing work.

Depending on your requirements and our recommendations, our initial setup cost for paid ads starts from AUD $750. This is the base fee for a stock-standard Google Ads setup and includes all the components we described above.

Additional variables such as adding Bing ads, ecommerce tracking, a large amount of campaigns, ad groups or keywords will attract a higher initial fee for which we’ll provide a custom quote.

Ongoing fees

It’s usually in your best interest to regularly review campaign performance and carry out ad maintenance.

This includes reviewing your search terms reports to identify negative keywords to add so that your ad spend becomes more efficient over time. This also includes making changes or improvements to various aspects of campaigns based on performance data gathered along the way.

Our ongoing paid ads fees start from $750 per month. This covers basic accounts with a limited amount of campaigns, ad groups and keywords. Again, more complex ad accounts may require a higher monthly fee for which we can provide a custom quote.

Ad spend

Most search ad campaigns will run on a cost-per-click, cost-per-impression or similar payment model.

Please note that any ad spend is paid directly to the ad platforms – Google Ads or Microsoft Advertising – and not to us.

We are often asked the question how much ad spend should budgeted for per month to run paid ads.

This is totally up to you. We do recommend a minimum of $1,000 in ad spend per month as this allows to generate enough data make data-driven optimisation decisions and you can get the best ROI from search ads.

No, we don’t.

Again, many (bigger) paid ads agencies do lock clients into six, twelve or even twenty-four month minimum contracts.

The obvious downside for you, the client, is that you could get stuck in an ineffective, inefficient or underperforming agreement for a significant time period.

Here at The Strategy Agency, we think the quality of our work should justify a clients’ decision to stay on board with us voluntarily.

Our business model is designed to be more agile. We don’t have the massive overheads other agencies may have. This allows us to provide you with flexible services at a sharp price, without locking you in.

That said, we do recommend giving your ads some time to thrive. Post-launch, the initial stint of your ads will provide us with valuable information we can leverage to optimise the performance and efficiency of your ads over time.

As any good agency should, we’ll be measuring your return on investment from the get-go.

This is where our trusted industry best-practice tracking and reporting setup comes in. We first establish your benchmarks and measure progress from there. That way, we can demonstrate the value your ads are bringing to the table.

Don’t forget, getting traffic to your landing page from an ad click is one thing.

Getting the right traffic that is qualified and likely to convert into a sale or a lead, is something else altogether.

There are no shortcuts here. We have close to a decade of experience running ads on behalf of many clients. During this time, we have continuously honed our skills and stayed up to date with the latest developments in the field.

We take the time to properly set up your ads ecosystem and deliver a product we are not only proud of but honestly believe sets you up with your best chance to get the most out of your advertising campaigns.

And we don’t disappear after the initial setup. We hear time and again of operators that don’t lift a finger to optimise ad campaigns after they were launched.

We follow a systematic approach of ongoing monitoring, management and optimisation so your ads can only get better over time.

There’s no time like the present.
